“Quem é este homem, que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?”
Primeira Leitura: Gênesis 19,15-29
Leitura do livro do Gênesis – Naqueles dias, 15os anjos insistiram com Ló, dizendo: “Levanta-te, toma tua mulher e tuas duas filhas e sai, para não morreres também por causa das iniquidades da cidade”. 16Como ele hesitasse, os homens tomaram-no pela mão, a ele, à mulher e às duas filhas – pois o Senhor tivera compaixão dele -, fizeram-nos sair e deixaram-nos fora da cidade. 17Uma vez fora, disseram: “Trata de salvar a tua vida. Não olhes para trás nem te detenhas em parte alguma desta região. Mas foge para a montanha, se não quiseres morrer”. 18Ló respondeu: “Não, meu Senhor, eu te peço! 19O teu servo encontrou teu favor e foi grande a tua bondade, salvando-me a vida. Mas receio não poder salvar-me na montanha, antes que a calamidade me atinja e eu morra. 20Eis aí perto uma cidade onde poderei refugiar-me; é pequena, mas aí salvarei a minha vida”. E ele lhe disse: “Pois bem, concedo-te também este favor: não destruirei a cidade de que falas. 22Refugia-te lá depressa, pois nada posso fazer enquanto não tiveres entrado na cidade”. Por isso foi dado àquela cidade o nome de Segor. 23O sol estava nascendo quando Ló entrou em Segor. 24O Senhor fez então chover do céu enxofre e fogo sobre Sodoma e Gomorra. 25Destruiu as cidades e toda a região, todos os habitantes das cidades e até a vegetação do solo. 26Ora, a mulher de Ló olhou para trás e tornou-se uma estátua de sal. 27Abraão levantou-se bem cedo e foi até o lugar onde antes tinha estado com o Senhor. 28Olhando para Sodoma e Gomorra e para toda a região, viu levantar-se da terra uma densa fumaça, como a fumaça de uma fornalha. 29Mas, ao destruir as cidades da região, Deus lembrou-se de Abraão e salvou Ló da catástrofe que arrasou as cidades onde Ló havia morado. – Palavra do Senhor.

Tenho sempre vosso amor ante meus olhos.
1. Provai-me, ó Senhor, e examinai-me, / sondai meu coração e o meu íntimo! / Pois tenho sempre vosso amor ante meus olhos; / vossa verdade escolhi por meu caminho. – R.
2. Não junteis a minha alma à dos malvados, / nem minha vida à dos homens sanguinários; / eles têm as suas mãos cheias de crime; / sua direita está repleta de suborno. – R.
3. Eu, porém, vou caminhando na inocência; / libertai-me, ó Senhor, tende piedade! / Está firme o meu pé na estrada certa; / ao Senhor eu bendirei nas assembleias. – R.
Evangelho: Mateus 8,23-27
Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Mateus – Naquele tempo, 23Jesus entrou na barca e seus discípulos o acompanharam. 24E eis que houve uma grande tempestade no mar, de modo que a barca estava sendo coberta pelas ondas. Jesus, porém, dormia. 25Os discípulos aproximaram-se e o acordaram, dizendo: “Senhor, salva-nos, pois estamos perecendo!” 26Jesus respondeu: “Por que tendes tanto medo, homens fracos na fé?” Então, levantando-se, ameaçou os ventos e o mar, e fez-se uma grande calmaria. 27Os homens ficaram admirados e diziam: “Quem é este homem, que até os ventos e o mar lhe obedecem?” – Palavra da salvação.

"Chi è quest'uomo, che anche i venti e il mare gli obbediscono?"
Prima Lettura: Genesi 19,15-29
Lettura del libro della Genesi – In quei giorni, 15 gli angeli esortarono Lot, dicendo: «Alzati, prendi tua moglie e le tue due figlie ed esci, affinché non muoia anche tu per le iniquità della città». 16 Mentre esitava, gli uomini lo presero per mano, insieme a sua moglie e alle sue due figlie, perché il Signore aveva avuto pietà di lui, e li fecero partire e li lasciarono fuori della città. 17 Una volta fuori, dissero: «Cerca di salvarti la vita. Non guardare indietro o fermarti da nessuna parte in questa regione. Ma fuggi sul monte se non vuoi morire”. 18 Lot rispose: «No, mio Signore, ti prego! 19Il tuo servo ha trovato grazia presso di te e la tua bontà è stata grande nel salvarmi la vita. Ma temo di non potermi salvare sulla montagna, prima che la calamità mi sorprenda e io muoia. 20 Ecco, c'è una città vicina dove posso rifugiarmi; è piccola, ma lì salverò la mia vita”. E gli disse: «Va bene, ti concedo anche questo favore: non distruggerò la città di cui parli. 22 Rifugiatevi presto là, perché non posso fare nulla finché non sarete entrati in città». Perciò a quella città fu dato il nome di Segor. 23 Il sole stava sorgendo quando Lot entrò in Segor. 24 Allora il Signore fece piovere dal cielo zolfo e fuoco su Sodoma e Gomorra. 25 Distrusse le città e tutta la regione, tutti gli abitanti delle città e anche la vegetazione del suolo. 26Ora la moglie di Lot si voltò indietro e divenne una statua di sale. 27 Abramo si alzò la mattina presto e andò nel luogo dove era stato prima con il Signore. 28 Mentre guardava verso Sodoma e Gomorra e tutta la regione, vide salire dalla terra un denso fumo, come il fumo di una fornace. 29Ma, distruggendo le città della regione, Dio si ricordò di Abramo e salvò Lot dalla catastrofe che aveva devastato le città dove Lot aveva abitato. - Parola del Signore.

Ho sempre il tuo amore davanti ai miei occhi.
1. Mettimi alla prova, o Signore, ed esaminami, / scruta il mio cuore e il mio intimo! / Perché ho sempre davanti agli occhi il tuo amore; / la tua verità ho scelto per il mio cammino. - R.
2. Non unire la mia anima con i malvagi, / né la mia vita con gli uomini assetati di sangue; / hanno le mani piene di delitti; / la tua destra è piena di tangenti. - R.

Vangelo: Matteo 8,23-27
Annuncio del Vangelo di Gesù Cristo secondo Matteo - In quel tempo, 23 Gesù salì sulla barca e i suoi discepoli lo accompagnarono. 24 Ed ecco, vi fu in mare una gran burrasca, tanto che la barca era coperta dalle onde. Gesù, invece, dormiva. 25 I discepoli gli si avvicinarono e lo svegliarono, dicendo: «Signore, salvaci, perché stiamo per morire!». 26 Gesù rispose: «Perché avete tanta paura, uomini di poca fede?». Poi, alzandosi, minacciò i venti e il mare, e ci fu una grande bonaccia. 27Gli uomini erano stupiti e dicevano: «Chi è quest'uomo, al quale anche i venti e il mare gli obbediscono?». - Parola di salvezza.

“¿Quién es este hombre, que hasta los vientos y el mar le obedecen?”
Primera Lectura: Génesis 19:15-29
Lectura del Libro del Génesis – En aquellos días, 15 los ángeles instaron a Lot, diciendo: “Levántate, toma a tu mujer y a tus dos hijas, y sal, para que no mueras tú también a causa de las iniquidades de la ciudad”. 16 Como vacilaba, los hombres lo tomaron de la mano, junto con su esposa y sus dos hijas, porque el Señor tuvo misericordia de él, y los hicieron salir y los dejaron fuera de la ciudad. 17 Una vez afuera, dijeron: “Trata de salvar tu vida. No mires atrás ni te detengas en ningún lugar de esta región. Pero huye a la montaña si no quieres morir”. 18 Lot respondió: “¡No, mi Señor, te lo ruego! 19Tu siervo halló gracia en ti, y tu bondad fue grande en salvarme la vida. Pero temo no poder salvarme en la montaña, antes de que me alcance la calamidad y muera. 20 He aquí, hay una ciudad cerca de donde puedo refugiarme; es pequeño, pero allí salvaré mi vida”. Y él le dijo: Muy bien, yo también te concedo este favor: no destruiré la ciudad de la que hablas. 22 Refúgiate allí pronto, porque no hay nada que yo pueda hacer hasta que hayas entrado en la ciudad. Por eso se le dio el nombre de Segor a aquella ciudad. 23 Estaba saliendo el sol cuando Lot entró en Segor. 24 Entonces el Señor hizo llover azufre y fuego del cielo sobre Sodoma y Gomorra. 25 Destruyó las ciudades y toda la región, a todos los habitantes de las ciudades y hasta la vegetación del suelo. 26Ahora bien, la mujer de Lot miró hacia atrás y se convirtió en estatua de sal. 27Abraham se levantó temprano en la mañana y fue al lugar donde había estado antes con el Señor. 28 Al mirar hacia Sodoma y Gomorra y toda la región, vio que subía de la tierra una densa humareda, como la humareda de un horno. 29Pero al destruir las ciudades de la región, Dios se acordó de Abraham y salvó a Lot de la catástrofe que devastó las ciudades donde Lot había vivido. - Palabra del Señor.

First Reading: Genesis 19:15-29
Reading of the Book of Genesis – In those days, 15 the angels urged Lot, saying: “Get up, take your wife and your two daughters and go out, so that you do not also die because of the iniquities of the city”. 16 As he hesitated, the men took him by the hand, along with his wife and two daughters – for the Lord had mercy on him – and made them leave and left them outside the city. 17 Once outside, they said, “Try to save your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in this region. But flee to the mountain if you don't want to die”. 18 Lot replied, “No, my Lord, I beg you! 19Your servant found favor with you, and your goodness was great in saving my life. But I fear I cannot save myself on the mountain, before calamity overtakes me and I die. 20 Behold, there is a city near where I can take refuge; it is small, but there I will save my life.” And he said to him, “Very well, I also grant you this favor: I will not destroy the city of which you speak. 22 Take refuge there quickly, for there is nothing I can do until you have entered the city.” Therefore the name of Segor was given to that city. 23 The sun was rising when Lot entered Segor. 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire from heaven on Sodom and Gomorrah. 25 He destroyed the cities and the entire region, all the inhabitants of the cities and even the vegetation on the ground. 26Now Lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt. 27Abraham got up early in the morning and went to the place where he had been with the Lord before. 28 As he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah and the whole region, he saw thick smoke rising from the earth, like the smoke of a furnace. 29But by destroying the cities in the region, God remembered Abraham and saved Lot from the catastrophe that devastated the cities where Lot had lived. - Word of the Lord.
