Leituras 🇧🇷

– Palavra do Senhor.

Salmo Responsorial: 123(124)
3. O laço arrebentou-se de repente, / e assim nós conseguimos libertar-nos. / O nosso auxílio está no nome do Senhor, / do Senhor que fez o céu e fez a terra! – R.

Evangelho: Mateus 2,13-18

Readings 🇺🇸
Joseph got up in the night, took the child and his mother and left for Egypt.

First Reading: 1 John 1:5-2:2
Reading of the first letter of Saint John - Dearly beloved, 5 the message we have heard from Jesus Christ and announce to you is this: God is light, and in him there is no darkness. 6 If we say we are in fellowship with him but walk in darkness, we are lying and are not guided by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, then we are in fellowship with one another, and the blood of his Son, Jesus, cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not within us. 9 If we acknowledge our sins, then God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all guilt. 10 If we say we never sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not within us. 2,1 My little children, I write this so that you may not sin. However, if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father: Jesus Christ, the righteous. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. - Word of the Lord.

Responsorial Psalm: 123(124)
Our soul, like a bird, escaped / from the snare that the hunter had set for it.
1. If the Lord had not been by our side / when men attacked us, / they would certainly have devoured us / in the fury of their anger against us. – R.
2. Then the waters would have submerged us, / the current would have dragged us / and then, over us / these ever more impetuous waters would have passed. – R.
3. The bond suddenly broke, / and so we managed to free ourselves. / Our help is in the name of the Lord, / of the Lord who made heaven and earth! – R.

Gospel: Matthew 2,13-18
Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Matthew-13 After the magicians departed, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph and said to him, ′′ Get up, take the boy and his mother and flee to Egypt! Stay there until I let you know! Because Herod is going to look for the boy to kill him.” 14Joseph got up in the night, took the child and his mother, and left for Egypt. 15 He stayed there until the death of Herod, to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.” 16 When Herod realized that the wise men had deceived him, he was very angry. He ordered that all the male children in Bethlehem and in all neighboring territory from two years old and under should be killed, exactly according to the time indicated by the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken through Jeremiah the prophet: 18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping and loud lamentation; it is Rachel weeping for her children, and she would not be comforted, because they were no more.” - Word of salvation.

Blessing
Tracing the sign of the cross on you and your family, say: Bless us, Lord God who is † Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that we may always live in Your love and doing only good to all. Amen!

Lecturas 🇪🇸
