Leitura da carta de São Paulo aos Gálatas – Irmãos, 22está escrito que Abraão teve dois filhos, um da escrava e outro da livre. 23Mas o filho da escrava nasceu segundo a carne, e o filho da livre nasceu em virtude da promessa. 24Esses fatos têm um sentido alegórico, pois essas mulheres representam as duas alianças: a primeira, Hagar, vem do monte Sinai; ela gera filhos para a escravidão. 26Porém a Jerusalém celeste é livre e é a nossa mãe. 27Pois está escrito: “Rejubila, estéril, que não dás à luz, prorrompe em gritos de alegria, tu que não sentes as dores do parto, porque os filhos da mulher abandonada são mais numerosos do que os da mulher preferida”. 31Portanto, irmãos, não somos filhos de uma escrava; somos filhos da mulher livre. 5,1É para a liberdade que Cristo nos libertou. Ficai, pois, firmes e não vos deixeis amarrar de novo ao jugo da escravidão. – Palavra do Senhor.

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – Naquele tempo, 29quando as multidões se reuniram em grande quantidade, Jesus começou a dizer: “Esta geração é uma geração má. Ela busca um sinal, mas nenhum sinal lhe será dado, a não ser o sinal de Jonas. 30Com efeito, assim como Jonas foi um sinal para os ninivitas, assim também será o Filho do Homem para esta geração. 31No dia do julgamento, a rainha do Sul se levantará juntamente com os homens desta geração e os condenará. Porque ela veio de uma terra distante para ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão. E aqui está quem é maior do que Salomão. 32No dia do julgamento, os ninivitas se levantarão juntamente com esta geração e a condenarão. Porque eles se converteram quando ouviram a pregação de Jonas. E aqui está quem é maior do que Jonas”. – Palavra da salvação.

Reading of St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians – Brethren, 22it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave and the other by a free woman. 23But the son of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and the son of the free woman was born according to the promise. 24These facts have an allegorical meaning, for these women represent the two covenants: the first, Hagar, comes from Mount Sinai; she begets children for slavery. 26But the heavenly Jerusalem is free, and she is our mother. 27For it is written: "Rejoice, you barren one who does not give birth, burst into joyful cries, you who do not feel the pain of childbirth, for the children of the abandoned woman are more numerous than those of the preferred woman." 31 Therefore, brothers, we are not the children of a slave; we are children of the free woman. 5.1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not let yourselves be tied again to the yoke of slavery. - Word of the Lord.

She seeks a sign, but no sign will be given to her except the sign of Jonah. 30For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation. 31On the day of judgment, the queen of the South will rise up together with the men of this generation and condemn them. Because she came from a distant land to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And here is who is greater than Solomon. 32On the day of judgment the Ninevites will rise up with this generation and condemn it. Because they were converted when they heard Jonah preach. And here is who is greater than Jonah.” – Word of salvation.

Lectura de la Carta de San Pablo a los Gálatas – Hermanos, 22está escrito que Abraham tuvo dos hijos, uno de una esclava y otro de una libre. 23Pero el hijo de la esclava nació según la carne, y el hijo de la libre nació según la promesa. 24Estos hechos tienen un significado alegórico, porque estas mujeres representan los dos pactos: el primero, Agar, viene del monte Sinaí; ella engendra hijos para la esclavitud. 26Pero la Jerusalén celestial es libre y es nuestra madre. 27Porque está escrito: "Alégrate, estéril que no das a luz, prorrumpe en gritos de alegría, tú que no sientes el dolor del parto, porque los hijos de la mujer abandonada son más numerosos que los de la mujer preferida". 31 Así que, hermanos, no somos hijos de una esclava; somos hijos de la mujer libre. 5.1 Es para la libertad que Cristo nos ha hecho libres.
