Primeira Leitura: Isaías 11,1-10
Leitura do livro do profeta Isaías – Naquele dia, 1nascerá uma haste do tronco de Jessé e, a partir da raiz, surgirá o rebento de uma flor. 2Sobre ele repousará o Espírito do Senhor: espírito de sabedoria e discernimento, espírito de conselho e fortaleza, espírito de ciência e temor de Deus; 3no temor do Senhor encontra ele seu prazer. Ele não julgará pelas aparências que vê nem decidirá somente por ouvir dizer, 4mas trará justiça para os humildes e uma ordem justa para os homens pacíficos; fustigará a terra com a força da sua palavra e destruirá o mau com o sopro dos lábios. 5Cingirá a cintura com a correia da justiça e as costas com a faixa da fidelidade. 6O lobo e o cordeiro viverão juntos, e o leopardo deitar-se-á ao lado do cabrito; o bezerro e o leão comerão juntos, e até mesmo uma criança poderá tangê-los. 7A vaca e o urso pastarão lado a lado, enquanto suas crias descansam juntas; o leão comerá palha como o boi; 8a criança de peito vai brincar em cima do buraco da cobra venenosa; e o menino desmamado não temerá pôr a mão na toca da serpente. 9Não haverá danos nem mortes por todo o meu santo monte: a terra estará tão repleta do saber do Senhor quanto as águas que cobrem o mar. 10Naquele dia, a raiz de Jessé se erguerá como um sinal entre os povos; hão de buscá-la as nações, e gloriosa será a sua morada. – Palavra do Senhor.

Proclamação do Evangelho de Jesus Cristo segundo Lucas – 21Naquele momento, Jesus exultou no Espírito Santo e disse: “Eu te louvo, Pai, Senhor do céu e da terra, porque escondeste essas coisas aos sábios e inteligentes e as revelaste aos pequeninos. Sim, Pai, porque assim foi do teu agrado. 22Tudo me foi entregue pelo meu Pai. Ninguém conhece quem é o Filho, a não ser o Pai; e ninguém conhece quem é o Pai, a não ser o Filho e aquele a quem o Filho o quiser revelar”. 23Jesus voltou-se para os discípulos e disse-lhes em particular: “Felizes os olhos que veem o que vós vedes! 24Pois eu vos digo que muitos profetas e reis quiseram ver o que estais vendo e não puderam ver; quiseram ouvir o que estais ouvindo e não puderam ouvir”. – Palavra da salvação.

First Reading: Isaiah 11:1-10
Reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah - On that day, 1 a rod will be born from the trunk of Jesse and, from the root, a flower will emerge. 2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: the spirit of wisdom and discernment, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of God; 3 in the fear of the Lord he finds his delight. He will not judge by what he sees, nor will he decide by hearsay, 4but he will bring justice to the humble and a just order to the peaceable men; he will scourge the earth with the power of his word and destroy the wicked with the breath of his lips. 5 He will gird his waist with the belt of righteousness, and around his back with the sash of faithfulness. 6 The wolf and the lamb shall live together, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; the calf and the lion will eat together, and even a child will be able to touch them. 7 The cow and the bear will graze side by side, while their young rest together; the lion will eat straw like the ox; 8 the nursing child will play over the hole of the poisonous snake; and the weaned child will not be afraid to put his hand into the serpent's hole. 9 There will be no harm or death on all my holy mountain: the earth will be as full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters that cover the sea. 10 In that day the root of Jesse will stand as a sign among the peoples; the nations shall seek him, and his dwelling place shall be glorious. - Word of the Lord.

Prima Lettura: Isaia 11,1-10
Lettura dal libro del profeta Isaia - In quel giorno 1 nascerà un bastone dal tronco di Iesse e, dalla radice, spunterà un fiore. 2 Su di lui si poserà lo Spirito del Signore: spirito di sapienza e di discernimento, spirito di consiglio e di fortezza, spirito di conoscenza e di timore di Dio; 3 nel timore del Signore trova la sua delizia. Non giudicherà in base a ciò che vede, né deciderà per sentito dire, 4ma recherà giustizia agli umili e giustizia agli uomini pacifici; flagellerà la terra con la potenza della sua parola e distruggerà gli empi con il soffio delle sue labbra. 5 Si cingerà i fianchi con la cintura della giustizia e il dorso con la cintura della fedeltà. 6 Il lupo e l'agnello vivranno insieme, e il leopardo giacerà con il capretto; il vitello e il leone mangeranno insieme e anche un bambino li potrà toccare. 7 La vacca e l'orsa pascoleranno fianco a fianco, mentre i loro piccoli riposeranno insieme; il leone mangerà la paglia come il bue; 8 il lattante giocherà sulla tana del serpente velenoso; e il bambino svezzato non avrà paura di mettere la mano nella tana del serpente. 9 Non ci sarà danno né morte su tutto il mio monte santo: la terra sarà piena della conoscenza del Signore come le acque che ricoprono il mare. 10 In quel giorno la radice di Iesse sarà un segno fra i popoli; le nazioni la cercheranno e la sua dimora sarà gloriosa. - Parola del Signore.

Sì, padre, perché è stato un piacere per te. 22 Tutto mi è stato dato dal Padre mio. Nessuno sa chi sia il Figlio se non il Padre; e nessuno sa chi sia il Padre se non il Figlio e colui al quale il Figlio vorrà rivelarlo». 23 Gesù si rivolse ai suoi discepoli e disse loro in privato: «Beati gli occhi che vedono ciò che vedete! 24 Poiché io vi dico che molti profeti e re volevano vedere ciò che voi vedete e non potevano vederlo; volevo sentire quello che stai sentendo e non hai potuto sentire. - Parola di salvezza.

Lectura del libro del profeta Isaías - En aquel día, 1 nacerá una vara del tronco de Jesé y, de la raíz, brotará una flor. 2 Reposará sobre él el Espíritu del Señor: espíritu de sabiduría y de discernimiento, espíritu de consejo y de fortaleza, espíritu de conocimiento y de temor de Dios; 3 en el temor del Señor encuentra su delicia. No juzgará por lo que ve, ni juzgará de oídas, 4sino que traerá justicia a los humildes y orden justo a los pacíficos; azotará la tierra con el poder de su palabra y destruirá a los impíos con el aliento de sus labios. 5 Ceñirá sus lomos con el cinto de la justicia, y alrededor de sus espaldas el cinturón de la fidelidad. 6 El lobo y el cordero vivirán juntos, y el leopardo se acostará con el cabrito; el becerro y el león comerán juntos, y hasta un niño podrá tocarlos. 7 La vaca y el oso pacerán uno al lado del otro, mientras sus crías descansan juntas; el león comerá paja como el buey; 8 el niño de pecho jugará sobre el agujero de la serpiente venenosa; y el niño destetado no tendrá miedo de meter la mano en la cueva de la serpiente. 9 No habrá mal ni muerte en todo mi santo monte: la tierra estará tan llena del conocimiento del Señor como las aguas que cubren el mar. 10 En aquel día la raíz de Jesé estará por señal entre los pueblos; las naciones la buscarán, y su morada será gloriosa. - Palabra del Señor.

Sí, Padre, porque ese fue su placer. 22 Todo me ha sido dado por mi Padre. Nadie conoce quién es el Hijo sino el Padre; y nadie conoce quién es el Padre sino el Hijo y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar.” 23 Jesús se volvió hacia sus discípulos y les dijo en privado: “¡Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que ustedes ven! 24 Porque os digo que muchos profetas y reyes quisieron ver lo que vosotros veis y no pudieron verlo; Quería escuchar lo que estás escuchando y no podía escuchar”. - Palabra de salvación.
